Gramo
Overview
You’d probably had never expected to find hand crafted glasses and sunglasses in Mexico City, and let alone glasses made in Japan, but that’s what this family owned business with generations in the vision industry offers. After 8 years of taking notes, listening and observing customer needs and preferences, designing and trialing, the latest Grue generation decided to create Gramo, a culmination of family heritage dedicated to vision. This outstanding brand and business designs its frames in Mexico and these are then handcrafted in Japan, where craftsmen with centuries worth of knowledge and skills develop durable, fashionable and distinctive frames for those who need a little help with their eyesight and those who simply want to protect their eyes from the sun.
Gramo aims to deliver long-lasting glasses which can be passed down from generation to generation, and as they mention on their website “The company is committed to fair, respectful and non-exploitative trade that enriches cultural ties and exchanges between Mexico and Japan”. If you’re looking to acquire new and one-of-a-kind frames this is the place to go.
